Months worth of speeding and other city misdemeanor tickets may have to be thrown out following an investigation by Local 2 Investigates, which sparked a Liberty County Sheriff’s Office investigation into the town’s municipal court.

The mayor of Kenefick said the city judge overseeing the tickets since February of this year was a fake and that the man was never appointed or approved by the city council. Mayor Marty Wells said he doesn’t know what will come of tickets issued by the city, some of whom were disposed of by Eric Baumgart.
