A routine traffic stop leads to a car chase and arrest of a 26-year-old man.

A sheriff deputy from Washington County were attempting to stop a vehicle on Sept. 20 just before 3 a.m. on South 10th Ave. at South Flax Plant Rd. for traffic violations.

As the deputy approached the car, the driver hit the gas and sped off. The deputy didn’t chase the green Cadillac, but radioed in the car description to other deputies in the area.
