Lambertville Mayor David DelVecchio imbibed alcohol in the company of strippers at a Burlington gentlemen’s club hours before he was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence earlier this year, The Trentonian has learned.

DelVecchio, 58, was pulled over in his Lincoln on Route 130 in Mansfield shortly after 1 a.m. on Nov. 9. He was on his way back from Playhouse Lounge, where he drank five beers in about a six-hour span, Mansfield Township police officer Eric Dawson wrote in his report, saying he initially pulled over the mayor for going 62 miles an hour in a posted 50 mph zone. The mayor also reportedly swerved lanes.
