A North Vernon man’s day went from bad to worse Thursday after police say he stole a car, ran a stop sign in Seymour and then led police on a chase through two counties before he was caught in a pond, police say.

Thirld A. Ross, 23, faces 10 charges, including a Class C felony charge of criminal confinement and two Class D felony charges of auto theft and resisting law enforcement with a vehicle.
